Mindfulness-for-Resilience course

Resilience refers to the personal qualities that enable us to thrive in the face of adversity

- Connor & Davidson

Mindfulness-for-Resilience Course

The content for this 6-week course is drawn from the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) curriculum (Jon Kabat-Zinn) and ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ (Mark Williams, Danny Penman) curriculum.

Through guided practices, group dialogue and home assignments, participants will learn the essential principles of mindfulness and resilience to skilfully navigate challenges in a composed and responsive way.

Participants will benefit from building their own personal practice, and will be able to access the range of benefits well beyond the course.

I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.
— Maya Angelou

Learning Outcomes 💡

  • A variety of formal and informal mindfulness practices, which involve using the breath and body as grounding mechanisms to strengthen awareness of the present moment.

  • Understanding the physiology of stress and how to self-regulate, to be able to respond more effectively in challenging situations.

  • Recognising patterns of worrying and self-criticism that are often the cause for stress. Learning to adopt a more accepting and kind attitude.

  • Learning to engage in intentional mindful communication, to strengthen connections and resolve conflicts mindfully.

  • Developing practical self-care tools to help improve focus and resilience.

  • Integrating mindfulness in the work day.

Course Structure

Each of the 6 sessions is 1,5 hours in a group-setting within your workplace environment.

The sessions build on each other, so it is recommended that participants attend all sessions.

The course is intended for a group size of up to 16 people.

Home Practice

It is key to highlight that the course encourages a commitment of about 20 minutes of home practice per day.

This is because the practice requires a repetitive form of mental training to have the desired impact.

Please ensure that participants are able to dedicate this time.

Handouts & Audio-guides

Weekly handouts including a mix of theory, practice guidelines and home assignments are provided.

Mp3 audio guides are also provided to support the home practice.
