‘How we relate to the present creates the future’

We spend a lot of time reflecting on the past or worrying about the future, and sometimes we forget to live & respond to the present moment. This is often not our intention, nor our fault .. we simply get lost in our thoughts or get pulled away by strong emotions .. which in turn become our reality!

Mindfulness practice, helps bring us back to our true present moment .. the smile of a child, the smell of freshly brewed tea, the heavy feeling in our chest, the touch of a friend's hand on ours ...

Learning to focus your awareness on the present means that you don't miss the richness of your life now ..

This does not mean that mindfulness does not offer the space to prepare for the future. On the contrary, our intentions, attitudes & actions that we consciously choose today, are what shape how we feel, interact & find ourselves in the future. The practice, therefore, makes us become more effective at shaping the future of our choice.

‘Now is the only time. How we relate to it creates the future. In other words, if we’re going to be more cheerful in the future, it’s because of our aspiration and exertion to be cheerful in the present. What we do accumulates; the future is the result of what we do right now’.
